Republicans in US House of Representatives withdraws healthcare bill.
Republicans in the US
House of Representatives have withdrawn a healthcare bill drafted to repeal and
replace "Obamacare".
Confirming the
withdrawal, House Speaker Paul Ryan said he recommended the withdrawal of the
bill following shortage of votes to pass it and permission from President
Donald trump.
President Trump who had
earlier demanded a House vote stated that he would move on to other issues if
the bill failed.
He however blamed
Democrats for the failure to pass the legislation as well as expressed surprise
and disappointed over the opposition from a group of conservative Republicans
who led the resistance against the legislation.
Democrats, on the other
hand, have described the failed bill as a "victory" for the American
people.
