Corrupt traditional rulers should lose titles, says Buhari
President Mohammad
Buhari has recommended that any traditional chieftaincy title holder caught
indulging in corrupt practices should be stripped off of his traditional title.
The President who was
represented by the minister for youths and sports development, Solomon Dalung made
the recommendation at Wukari Local Government Council of Taraba state on the
occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Aku-Uka of Wukari, Dr Shekarau Angy.
The number one citizen
who stressed that traditional institutions must be the vanguard of the
anti-corruption crusade added that his administration will not condone monarch
treading the path of corruption.
He also commended the
Aku-Uka who is the chairman of council of chief in Taraba State and urged
citizens to join hands with his
administration to wipe out corruption from the country.
