Syrian Government Ready To Swap Prisoners
The Syrian government says it is ready to swap prisoners with rebel groups so as to build confidence ahead of peace talks.
The meeting which is set to begin from the 15th to 16th of February 2017 is expected to discuss peace talks between the Syrian government and rebel delegations.
The Syrian government had in the past conducted prisoner exchanges with a wide range of rebel groups under the auspices of the Syrian Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
However, in a move this month, the Syrian government and rebel groups have swapped dozens of female prisoners and hostages in Hama province of north western Syria.
