Governor Nasir El-Rufai vows prosecution

Kaduna state Governor Nasir El-Rufai has vowed to prosecute those behind the crisis in southern Kaduna, just as he exonerated himself of any complicity.
The governor, who stated this while receiving the Kabiru Gaya-led Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Southern Kaduna yesterday at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, noted that no patriotic chief executive would allow his state to be on fire without taking action.
While regretting that the pogrom was prolonged by the non-prosecution of the sponsors over the years, the governor charge the committee to see the reality of what is happening in southern Kaduna advising it not to believe anyone based on his credibility or apparent credibility.

According to him, even the figures released by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on the impasse were those of six local councils and involved trapped Christians, Muslims and traditionalists.

The Ibrahim Badamasi Babaginda (IBB) University in Lapai, Niger State, has made a major breakthrough with the discovery of large quantity of crude oil deposit at Bida Basin. The Head of Research and Development, Ibrahim Badamasi Babaginda (IBB), Lapai In Niger State, Prof. Nuhu Obaje, on Thursday, said the institute has discovered large quantity of crude oil deposit at Bida Basin. He disclosed that the institution had made its findings known to both the Federal Government as well as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). According to DailyTrust, Prof. Obaje said that the management of the university was ready and willing to assist government in further exploration of crude in the area.
